Just to make things clear. A .dmg file is a disk image and treated on
Mac like a real disk. The DMG file comes in different formats: HFS,
HFS+, UFS, ProDOS, Linux, and Fat32 and so may also require special
mounting software to account for the format. So DMG doesn't mean HFS.

I had the same problem with the Java FX download for Mac. Sun does not
yet offer a version for Linux, and I read that the Mac version works on
Linux for certain things. This might be helpful because anyone can open

- Create an HFS archive with mkisofs
mkisofs -hfs -hfs-unlock -probe -V "My Stuff" -o stuff.hfs /tmp/*
- mount it as an HFS image
mkdir ./hfstest/
sudo mount -t hfs ./stuff.hfs ./hfstest/ -o loop

i get the same error when trying to mount a mac hfs disc image.
sudo mount -t hfs -o loop Mac\ Test\ Disc.cue /media/cdrom0/
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslo
