In 8.10 it becomes worse. My trick does not work now. A have to use
32bit display. When I use 16bit display, decoration crashes at all.

OS: Ubuntu 8.04 Release Canidate
nvidia-glx-new is installed, Desktop effects enabled ("Normal"/ default)

I think you're running out of video memory, you've got only 32MB. You
can try setting a smaller Virtual size in your xorg.conf, the driver
defaults to 2048x1200 which is maybe more than you need.

Sorry for my emotions. Here is xorg.conf, xorg.0.log and the most interesting -
where You can see so many horrible mistakes - .xsession-errors.
By the way, I solve my problem. Like this:
1. I install CompizConfig Settings Manager
2. Set there in "General Options/Display Settings/Output device" -
Sure, we would like to see compiz working on as many cards as possible.
But first step is to see if the problem is with compiz (only). Please
attach the log file and xorg.conf as well.

You must be kidding? I do not want to! I made 5 adepts of our Ubuntu sect just
showing Compiz-Fusion to them. It is so cool!
After disabling "Desktop Effects" I see normal windows in any configuration and
sizes of course, but where are those wonderful effects! I see xorg.0.log usual
and clear f
Please attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log and try to disable "Desktop Effects".
