Good news: I have updated the BIOS and now the suspend/resume works
again! Thank you!
At least I think it was the BIOS. I did perform a Ubuntu update one of
the past days out of habit - I should not have done it, to make sure
that only one thing is changed in the system - sorry for that.
Anyway,
Quick update: The BIOS download links on the Intel site are broken. I've
reported the issue to their support, waiting now for them to be fixed.
When they are, I'll do the upgrade and report it here.

The motherboard is an Intel DH77DF (sorry, not a Gigabyte as incorrectly
wrote in the other post). The CPU is an Intel Core i7 3770K.
The dmidecode commands don't do anything. Running it without parameter gives:
root@hades:~# dmidecode
