Same for probleme for me : After a correct boot, I have the Gnome
Wallpaper and sometime and exactly like andrewsomething : X seems to
load fine, the Gnome wallpaper appears, and then it waits. Occasionally,
it will drop out to a black screen and flash some errors before
repeating the process agai

Well, after multiple reboots from the Gutsy Tribe 5 live CD I am
experiencing the same issue each time except that the error output has
not been reproduced. So I'm not sure if it was related or not.
I then attempted using the daily build (found here:

I'm also using a Dell Inspiron 1501 (AMD Turion 64x2) and have gotten
the same problem.
X seems to load fine, a brown screen appears, and then it waits.
