This problem is fixed perfectly in Hardy Alpha 1, but it still exists in
Gutsy. Is there any way this will get fixed in Gutsy? or should I mark
this as Fix Released since it's been fixed the the next version of
Ubuntu?

That's what I meant by jerky - the instant transition. The instantaneous
window transition and the application switcher box switching is a bad
combination as it does not allow for the user to focus on the task at
hand - switching apps. (see above description) If we had a smoother,
fading implementa
We used to do the same but got complaints about it being jerky. The
setup we have now is instant for me. No jerkiness, no slow transitions,
etc.

I've just tried out the Compiz application switcher on Fedora 8 and I've
noticed that it's implementation is much smoother than that of Gutsy's.
It's basically the same thing except when switching the windows in the
background, they each come to the front through a fade of dark to light.
