I believe that this bug has been corrected in Ubuntu hardy
openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 so I am marking it as Fix Released.
If after upgrading you continue to have problems with this issue then
feel free to reopen this bug.

I've changed the bug back to triaged since there is still a bug. It
might be helpful if you could make a list of themes that are
problematic. I seem to recall seeing a bug like this earlier today.
You might want to search for another bug in openoffice.org with an
ubuntulooks task.

Sorry, my mistake. I'm pretty new to reporting bugs, so feel free to
push me in the right direction. I've seen issues with 'bad' themes
before, but not by far as problematic as this one. As for the marking,
should this be set it back to Incomplete?

This is weird. I've been experimenting a little, and it seems openoffice
doesn't like some of the gtk themes available. I switched from LiNsta3
to LiNsta2 and it once again, it froze. Then I changed to standard
Clearlooks, and behold - It works!
So there I'm off to find a new semi-dark gtk theme t
I have been unable to reproduce this bug using openoffice.org
2.3.0~rc1-1ubuntu2 on amd 64.
