That is very strange. The only way you get this message is for the blocks of grubenv to be out of order, but it is only one block long so that isn't possible. The only thing I can think of is that you have a different grubenv somewhere. Can you run the boot info script and post the results? htt

Hrm... actually that specific error seems to indicate a corrupt file*system*. Do you have a separate /boot partition? Please boot into rescue mode and choose the fsck option from the menu to check and repair the filesystem and see if that resolves it. ** Changed in: grub2 (Ubuntu) Status
