We have a HP-DesignJet 130 connected to Ubuntu 14.04 (upgraded from
12.04 in order to get plotter to work). The HP-DesignJet_130-cdnj500.ppd
seems to be very close to a working solution. It seems as if all that is
needed is for the buffer to be flushed and the paper ejected (manual
load). All print

Ok We can inform Ubuntu about this. I found the solution. I just don't
know who to send it to.
Ubuntu 14.10 uses the :
HP-DesignJet_130-cdnj500.ppd
as the driver for the HP DesignJet 130 printer.
This driver does not work properly.
However by changing the driver to :
HP-DesignJet_130-chp220.ppd

When I connect my HP DesignJet 130 to Ubuntu 14.10 it installs a driver
that says it is for my printer.

"HP Designjet 130 printer" is not supported in HP Linux driver (HPLIP).
List of Designjet printers Supported/Not_Supported can be found at

This bug was reported under apport, which is crash detection/reporting
tool. I have reassigned it from apport to hplip (HP Linux Imaging and
Printing) so that somebody can hopefully assist with your problem.
