What have I done? thinkpad-keys is back! : )
All the keys now work after a reboot but it is worth noting that most of
the keys I tested started working after thinkpad_acpi was manually
loaded previously.
The one thing that doesn't seem to quite work is the gnome-power-manager
brightness popup an

The new acpi-support (0.102) did nothing
BUT, after todays update of hotkey-setup to 0.1-17ubuntu18, the bug was fixed.
In fackt, thinkpad_acpi gets now automatically loaded.

I can confirm this. I've also noticed that the ThinkVantage button, Zoom
(Fn-Space), Lock screen (Fn-F1), Show battery (Fn-F2), Eject (Fn-F9) on
this lenovo T60 Thinkpad no no longer seem to send a keycode,
