The "ln" command seems to have the arguments backward.
Installing the php5-mcrypt module puts the .ini file under /etc/php5
/mods-available/ and as such, you should have done that to enable it for
php5-fpm:
cd /etc/php5/fpm/conf.d/
sudo ln -s ../../mods-available/mcrypt.ini 20-mcrypt.ini
