[Bug 138274] Re: Dolphin does not remember view profile

I see the point now. May be it would be a good idea to "grey out" or disable the options for "Apply view properties to:" when in the Configuration dialog the option of saving the properties is disabled. It does not make sense to select where the properties should be applied to and not to save

That is the way it is supposed to work when the 'Configure Dolphin -> Save view properties for each folder' checkbox is unchecked. Once you enable this, you can start saving view profiles for each folder. Otherwise it'll switch back to the default view configured in Configure Dolphin -> Default Vi

I can not reproduce this. Did you by any chance browse those folders with dolphin as root at any time? Theory: dolphin running as root with the "Save view properties for each folder"-box ticked will overwrite the users .dolphinview files with root-owned .dolphinview files, and that way make it i

Thank you for reporting this bug. Yes, D3lphin has two ways to configure the view mode, one of which is broken. I will try to move all of "Adjust View Properties" dialog into the Configure Dolphin dialog. ** Changed in: dolphin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low Status: New => Confirm

I can confirm this is happening to me as well using up to date Gutsy beta / Dolphin 0.9.2. I can confirm this bug. However, this problem did not happen with a clean install of Tribe 5, but actually cropped up after Dolphin was updated to 0.9.2. No matter what the setting is in the .dolphinview file for a directory, Dolphin *always* forces Preview mode, and this is becoming annoying. --
