The succesfull workaround for Xorg crashing on Intel GM45 integrated graphics on Lenovo T400 was to create the the following file /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel-gm45.conf Section "Device" Identifier "Intel Graphics" Driver "intel" Option "AccelMethod" "uxa" EndSection
