I am having this issue on the Mythbuntu distribution. This distribution
is based off xfce. I have installed dolphin and ark, but there is no
"extract here" or "extract to" menu option in the right click menu.
I think this functionality may be enabled by installation of some other
package in the
Either it has been fixed, or someone forgot to restart Dolphin. I can't
reproduce on any machine I can get my hands on.

I don't see why it would be different in Gnome, but I do know that when
I open it in Gnome if you go to "Actions" there is an extract option.
(also needs ark, so install via the package manager). What version of
dolphin do you have installed?
