Yes, I have a /var/run/clamsmtp. (new person)
Although the 7.04 update claimed it was aborting and said to please report it,
the update apparently worked anyway, and I was able to install the 7.10 update
after that. So I assume it's okay.

without feedback, there is no way to tell
