Same problem here too. Happened immediately after gstreamer updates on
August 30th.

This is a general problem for all gstreamer enabled applications and
seem to have appeared after the upgrades of gstreamer plugins on the
30th of August:
gstreamer0.10-alsa (0.10.14-1ubuntu2) to 0.10.14-1ubuntu3
gstreamer0.10-gnomevfs (0.10.14-1ubuntu2) to 0.10.14-1ubuntu3
