I believe that suspend does not work only if you are using the fglrx
driver which does not appear to be the case in this bug report.

Are you sure that this bug is fixed? I hava an nw8240 and suspend to RAM
doesn't seem to work on gutsy and the
2.6.22-14-generic kernel.
Also, this bug seems to be related to

and as far as I see it looks broken.
