The only issue I can think of with the sync code is that the argument is
not supported inside compiz.

Found a problem.
There is an inconsistency in handling settings for preferred terminal if
one enables/disables 3D desktop (at least via System-Preferences-
Appearance).
Steps to reproduce:
1. Disable settings for terminal without 3D. Disable settings for terminal with
3D (let's say put custom,
the packaging system doesn't change user configurations, closing the
bug. Feel free to reopen if you figure than something you are running is
changing this setting though

In fact, I did not configure anything. Probably, It was messed up during
the update process. In preferred applications I had "Custom" selected
without a command. It would have been nice, if Ubuntu could point me
directly to the problem or suggest to check these s
