So you were able to solve this problem right and you can't reproduce it?
1 second strange noise can be caused by anything and I haven't heard
anyone complaining about such thing. Unless you know the steps how this
bug can be reproduced there is no point in keeping this report open.

learned a little bit about systems logs. The missing codec information
mentioned above is exactly the following (from the kern.log file) :
