This time I have disabled both CF from unofficial and official
repository and I occurred the same problem. I realized that it is
probably caused by mozilla-Thunderbird. It hasn't happened for the first
time. Sometimes when I'm receiving new emails thunderbird hangs. I can't
close it and then gnome-

You're right it's probably because of compiz-fusion. Currently I've been
using CF "compiz 1:0.5.2-0ubuntu4" from "deb
http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb gutsy eyecandy" repository.
Even during writing this email it has also happened and this time also
hanged computer. I had to reset my laptop. (f

Ubuntu better. It's probably caused because of the compiz package you
use, does it hangs without it? also can you tell us if it hangs with the
compiz package from the ubuntu repositories?
