And just for more information:
This laptop has a touchscreen. I believe that's what id=9 is, the touchscreen,
which works fine.
id=10 is labeled as SynapticsTouch Pad V 1.03U3, but I'm wondering if it should
be some kind of ELAN touchpad?

I just tried updating the kernel in hopes that it would be fixed in
3.14.0-031400-generic, but that seems to have changed nothing.
