Last time I've checked it again after upgrading openoffice, but the only
difference is that now I have Tango (doesn't work) and Human (works)
instead of two Humans. Automatic choice of icon set still does not
display any icons.

I can confirm this bug too. I'm using here Gutsy Tribe 5 and a custom
theme with Tango icons. When i use these icons i see text instead of
icons inside OOo. Changing the icon theme of Openoffice inside
OOo > Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > View
to Tango doesn't help. I've got there the "Tango

Hi,
I checked it, both size and style of icons is set to automatic, but I
don't have an option to chose Tango icon set though I have Tango icons
installed.
The coice I have in icons style is (I'll translate from Polish, so some names
may not be entirely correct):
->Automatic
->Default
->High Con
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and making Ubuntu better, but
we'll need additional information from you.
Could you check on Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > View
and check on the Icon size and style and change it from Automatic to Tango
We need to see if this fixes this issue.
