I managed to install Ubuntu on this laptop thanks to a guide provided by
Jennifer Hodgdon http://www.poplarware.com/everexlinux.html
Basically there are 2 problems that make it freeze on boot, the ethernet and
card reader kernel module, somebody removed this modules, and created a new cd
install

sorry these logs and texts i got out of slackware because its the only
linux we've been able to boot. but we need to install linux so i hope
the information helps.
