This is still a problem for me.
@charlesk when running `apport-collect 1317288`, I receive a popup
window:
"You are not the reporter or subscriber of this problem report, or the
report is a duplicate or already closed. Please create a new report
using "apport-bug"."
So I created a new report 15

This has been annoying me since I reinstalled my laptop following a disk
failure recently. I finally ran across the advice to run "dconf reset
-f /com/canonical/indicator/datetime/". Voila! The clock reappeared.
Then I changed the settings to add the day of week. The clock
disappeared. Same t
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

I'm affected by this. System settings > Time & Date > Clock options are
available and seem to function normally. I've tried the following
solutions; none have restored my clock to the unity panel.
1)
sudo apt-get install --reinstall indicator-datetime;
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -f noninteractive tzd
Nobody else affected by this?
