Okay, I found the problem:
in /etc/X11/xorg.conf, the three lines adding the tablet were commented
out (the one's marked below with "<") - after removing the leading
'#' and restarting X the stylus works. - Yay

out of the box.

Hi Henrik,
Yes works fine on the kernel side of things, even after a suspend/resume
cycle.
All that is missing is changing /etc/init.d/xserver-xorg-input-wacom in
wacom-tools.
