The bug had to do with an installation issue with texlive. I first
tried an upgrade to see if it fixed the problem, and apt-get reported it
was not installed (I am not sure how it was installed previously, but
apparently I had an older version; but I did have the same problem

Michel Desmarais, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't
been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please provide an example document that
demonstrates this problem?
