Not sure if this is the right spot to suggest a simple work around,
while waiting for the bug to be sorted out, but by inserting at
the beginning of the phrase to be output, any remnant(s) of the
abbreviation are removed and the phrase is output correctly (so far).

After a clean install of Lubuntu 14.04, Firefox 30.0, Thunderbird 24.5.0,
Autokey 0.90.4 for KDE
the problem is still present.
It does NOT affect entering data into FF and TB Master Password fields, only
forms and Edit > Preferences fields.
