I can confirm the same issue with my system, using an NVIDIA 660 GTX, running Mint 17 with Nvidia drivers 331.38. Turning off FXAA didn't work for me. None of the settings made a difference. Sorry, forgot to attach list of dependencies. Also forgot to mention that I tried uninstalling and pruging all nvidia drivers then rebooting, then re-installing nvidia proprietary drivers - it did not fix it. I will say that I DID NOT uninstall the nvidia drivers before running update-manager to
