Although I'm no longer able to install the .deb downloaded from Google, these
instruction were successful:
http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppa/google_talk_plugin
These 3 commands worked:
wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub |
sudo apt-key add -
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb h
This should really be an Askubuntu post, not a bug report. Can you try
installing the deb file manually in a terminal, using "dpkg -i
filename.deb", and paste the output?

This is a very important plugin for me; it allows me to do all my
telephone conversation from my laptop while simply being logged into
gmail through firefox.
Does anyone know what recent changes could have effected my ability to
install this plugin successfully?

@Tim : I've actually been using this plugin with firefox, but you are
also right to include chromium, because if the package won't install, it
can't be used in either.
