i had to roll back to the bios that my MB came with to get it almost
stop randomly freezing.

mv820b02 ( aka 1.02 - 2004 ) seems to work ok with 2.6.22
the rest of the bios in the tar.gz are from 2005 and the newest one of that set
locks on almost everything Linux ( tested 2.6.9

I did a clean install with 7.10 x64 and 7.10 x64 server and I get random lockups
seemingly random full system lock up from clean installs of 7.10 desktop and
server
in the middle of installs, yea even with the live CD once, mid boot, playing a
pod cast etc.
from the logs it look like the I/o su
I changed turn off my monitor ( power saving settings ) to never from 40
mins and update to the 2.6.22-9 kernel and it's still up.
