Running the adept updater via the system tray icon and updating to the
latest releases for 7.10 beta, I noticed that when I had it showing me
details, I was seeing "stack smashing detected" warnings and then perl
was being aborted w
Just saw the other posts on my original bug report and thought you might
want to know I'm still seeing the occasional "stack smashing detected"
output before adept dies and I have to manually go and update things.
I have 2.6.1-1ubuntu9 of both libc6 and libc6-i686 installed at this
time.

they both have the same version number 2.5-Oubuntu14, i removed libc6-686,
KTorrent is more stable, crashed only twice today.. Sigh, the older version
could run for days without trouble.

I asked about both libc6 and libc6-i686. They're two packages and I need
the information for both on the same system.

up KDE...

But the Update finished ok.

running adept updater gives me the following and then errors out after
trying to start installing some packages:
debconf: unable to initialize frontend: Kde
debconf: (DISPLAY problem?)
debconf: falling back to frontend: Dialog

After rebooting, X refused to start (ie kdm also refused to start). I
then tried to do an apt-get dist-upgrade -u, which then gave me an error
about libstdc++6_4.2.1-1ubuntu1 not being at the right level and
requiring an apt-get -f install to correct. When I tried this it then
gave me an error ab
