I eventually found there was an "imagezoom.defaultGlobalZoom" setting
set to 120%. It remains strange that it suddenly changed without
updating that Image Zoom extension, but nevermind. I set it to 100 and
it instantly fixed the image issue.

I think I finally found a similar bug, #127086, but the reporter is not
talkative and he experienced this problem a week before mine, while I
update everyday.
