Hmm, I just reinstalled Linux Mint 16 along side of Windows 7 and the
problem is fixed. I looked inside /etc/default/grub and here are the
contents:
GRUB_DEFAULT=0
GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=true
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian`
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DE
How about "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="i8042.reset i8042.nomux=1"
(slightly different)
