I already had tried this solution. In my case, the gnome keybindings plugin of
compiz is freeing the system.
It's a registered bug on the opencompositing bugtracker and the dev there say
this plugin is not oficially supported by compiz.

So all of this happens while using Compiz-Fusion? Try to enable Gnome
keybindings from the Compiz-Fusion control panel. Some GNOME key
bindings aren't supported by default while using desktop effects.
