I already had tried this solution. In my case, the gnome keybindings plugin of compiz is freeing the system. It's a registered bug on the opencompositing bugtracker and the dev there say this plugin is not oficially supported by compiz. -- keybindings gone in the wild https://bugs.launchpad.net
