Nevertheless, I am not sure that the output is what you expect. There
was an error message

I burned the 14.04 image to disc and tried it out from there - touchpad
is not working. apport-collect is not part of the package and installing
it is not possible when trying out from disc. On the other hand, I
hesitate to upgrade my computer now to 14.04 pre-version as I am af

After using the touch pad under Windows to find out some details - it is
Synaptics ClickPad V8.1 - it gets listed as output of xinput --list but
is not in the output of /proc/bus/input/devices.
