I think this problem may be fixed on Ubuntu 7.10 OpenOffice 2.3.0. Can
you please try the updated version and see if it works for you? If it
does not do you have the Rekha font installed on your system?

Here's the corrupted PDF.
When the font is changed to Nimbus Sans L, export is alright.
