I just saw this happening on 14.04, and ibus CPU usage dropped to normal
level after shutting down Eclipse (Luna 4.4.1).

Ok. This is pretty bizarre. The system unresponsiveness issue happened
again.
This time, I ssh'ed in and noticed that Google Chrome was using 105% of
CPU and the load was shooting up.
Did a 'killall chrome' and the load went down to normal.
Looks like Chrome has some issues running on Ubuntu Lin
i could move the mouse around but the mouse clicks were not registering.
using ssh, logged in (took a little while) and noticed that the load was
12 or higher. running 'top', i saw a couple ibus related processes that
were taking up gigabytes of ram. indeed, even though i only had chrome
and a coup
I am seeing this behaviour in Eclipse 4.4 (Luna) with Oracle JDK 8, and
Ubuntu 14.04 x86_64 and Unity. When typing in Eclipse, the IBus daemon
consumes 100% CPU. The problem goes away if I disable IBus using the
preference in Language Support for Keyboard input method system. I

Observed on upgrade to 14.04 workaround in comment #4 does not work, the
option to isntall and remove languages is greyed out.

I have been having a similar problem for a while now, very randomly. I
am not sure if its the same as described by others.
I cannot reproduce it at will(It seems to happen when moving between
windows, especially gnome-terminal, eclipse and guake), but every now
