This issue is about Trusty Tahr, which ended Mainstream support in 2019
and exited ESM in 2021. I vote that we close this issue as WONTFIX (I

Yes please! I've switched over to emacs24 and it's better in so many
ways. I'm subscribed to the Debian bug now, so if I have spare cycles
I'll help out over there. I see no reason to keep emacs23 for
14.04.
