I re-checked this in Pinta 1.5 (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) and Pinta doesn't crash
any more - but the Circle Select tool does NOT allow copying to the
clipboard (and thus pasting from the clipboard) although both the
"rectangle select" and the "lasso select" both work fine.
No crash, but also not working
There have been a ton of changes between 1.3 and 1.5, but my best guess
is that this bug was fixed by

It's not good to mark this as fix committed for Ubuntu and assign the
ticket to yourself because apparently that will prevent the Ubuntu devs
from looking at it.

I can reproduce this with Pinta 1.3 and Pinta 1.4, but the error doesn't
occur in the latest development build of Pinta 1.5
