Especially when the firefox package is not installed yet, the other
package can't anticipate where the symlink in
/usr/lib/firefox/defaults/syspref will be pointing to.

Hi,
what's a clean way of doing this?
When I add the files as part of my package. The firefox package runs
into problems updating because of directory conflicts with my package.
Should I create a symlink to a file in my package's directories in the
postinst script? Thus it might not be picked up
this is already possible. You can just put your .js files to wherever
/usr/lib/firefox/syspref link points to.
