Hello Alex,
Thank you for submitting this bug and all the error logs with regard to your
problem with cups. You made this bug report some time ago and Ubuntu and cups
have been updated since then.
It also looks like possibly the USB directly connecting to the PC
(rather than through a USB hub)
Sorry guys, was busy and forgot about that issue...
I've moved to 13.10 since last report, the problem is still here.
I have the OKI printer connected through a cheap USB hub and DYMO labelwriter
directly to the PC.
That's exactly the same configuration as I had before upgraded to 13.04, which

Which version of Ubuntu are you using? Can you try whether the problem
goes away with a live CD/USB stick of a newer version?
Are the printers connected through a USB hub? Can you try to connect
them without USB hub?

While typing here, there was another label printed by the DYMO printer,
probably one that was stuck after the problem, here's the syslog again
with all the information...

Hi,
Following is the tail of the syslog with printouts from the prints session.
It took a while to reproduce, the log includes 2 successful prints on the DYMO
printer, the 3'rd was cut again and than restarted from the middle of the
sticker.
The OKI printer wasn't stuck this time...

Can you also attach /var/log/syslog of when the problem occurs? Thanks.
Please also follow the instructions of the section "USB printer" on

Would someone from HPLIP mind taking a look at this? Logs indicate

Okay, so what I generally do in cases like this where there are multiple
lengthy logs, is to go through each, pull out any events that are
notable, or will help investigate this further and annotate the events
as needed. I will then upload them as attachments here, and cross
reference them for any
Okay, I'm looking over the provided logs, and will let you know what I

Oh, and something I didn't mention, the PDF files are printed from the command

While the symptoms are different, the fact that they all started around

others, or while tackling one, the solution to the others will become
clear. The next sensible step, while I take a look at the error logs

Not my lucky day... Printing next jobs sequence printed 1/4 of the label on

The OKI printer's job went to "processing - not connected?" again.
In the web interface I can see "Unable to send data to printer." for the

Another symptom, probably the same problem:
The OKI printer's jobs are not coming out.
In printer's queue the job is shown as "Processing - Not connected?", while the

Quinn asked to mention the other problem I've reported #1231624 with 7 seconds

You know the deal: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems .
Attach the logs pertaining to debugging CUPS, check out the web
interface for CUPS, checking for anything that seems odd. In this case
the information about how to capture print job data will also be
necessary. Whether these are
