Audacious crashed & unable to play any mp3 files.
I solve my problem by removing ~.config/audacious folder

Thanks, Adrien. I assumed I could do that, but didn't give a try.
By the way, since installation of ubuntu headers 2.6.22.13 and up, each
time I boot my PC, I get a error 15: file not found message. I have to
boot choosing the 2.6.22.12 version. Shall I also remove the higher
versions and reinsta

the both provide libcurl.so

I can play them in Rhytmbox with no problems. As for my internet
connection, this is unlikely to be an issue, both due to the error
message

What version of Audacious? Internet radio works fine with me under 1.3
and 1.4 (hg tip).

I also tried using local playlists containing streams and got the same
result. I loaded a stream from Xiph and, in addition to that error,
the file browser appears even though I didn't click Add Files.
