I believe I am affected by this bug as well. It may be a different
problem, but it seems related. Burned DATA DVDs can't seem to be
mounted. I have tested kernel 2.6.27-7 and 2.6.27-11 on Intrepid.
Blank DVDs are seen normally and I have no trouble burning. However,

upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

Just today I bought a new (serial-ata) dvd burner. I just shut down my ubuntu
7.04 built in the drive and started up again.
So far everything worked well. It was detected by Linux and I burned the
