What Richard ment is that g-p-m doesn't dim the screen with software. GNOME session and the screensaver actually fade the screen by *DRAWING* the screen dimmed so it looks that it or the parts of it look like dimmed. G-P-M *really* dims the screen,i.e. it reduces the power of the backlight of your
