thx for the additional info. i really dont know why this occurs in OO and not
in inkscape
font rendering is ok/working, standard. xorg.conf is ok.

I am using a TFT display. According to the laptop manufacturer's website, it's
a 15" SXGA+ TFT 1.400 x 1.050. (It's a Samsung X20 XVM 1730 V laptop.) I need
915resolution to set this resolution.
Font rendering is set to "Subpixel smoothing" with "Full" hinting and subpixel
order "RGB". The other
yes you can: post your xorg.conf file (i dont think there is a problem) do you
use a tft screen? additional fonts: sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts
but it is strange that inktscape is not effected. there are several options in
OO to change the fonts.

visible), but the text has about the same size in both windows.
