Ok, hopefully there will be a fix. I don't know if it is of any help, but the
.deb package supplied here:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gutenpy/gutenpy_0.3.0-1_all.deb
contains the gutenpy.desktop file, to the best of my reckoning contains no
compiled code, and works without error on 7.04

The upstream author has replied in the affirmative. I'm just waiting for
this bug to be fixed now:
