Doesn't resolve the original problem of python:epub not being packaged,
but one can install pip, and then use that to install python:epub
So:
sudo apt-get install python-pip
sudo pip install epub

Okay, but on 12.04 where there's a package that provides this part of Python,
Recoll indexes the ".pdf"-s, and on 13.04 without the "python:epub" it DOES NOT.
"pdftotext" and "poppler-utils" are installed, I checked.

Just for the record: Recoll only uses python:epub for indexing epub
files.
Recoll uses pdftotext from the poppler-utils package to index PDFs.
