Public bug reported:

I have a 24MB PCMCIA Flash Disk (16 Bit) that doesn't come up as a block
device to mount. This is not a compact flash pcmcia adapter; it *is* a
PCMCIA Flash Disk.
uname -a...

Linux thinkpad 2.6.20-12-generic #2 SMP Wed Mar 21 20:55:46 UTC 2007
i686 GNU/Linux

When I insert the card, this is what shows up in /var/log/messages...

Jun 11 20:17:03 thinkpad kernel: [95920.372000] pccard: PCMCIA card inserted
into slot 0
Jun 11 20:17:03 thinkpad kernel: [95920.372000] pcmcia: registering new device
pcmcia0.0

lspcmcia....

Socket 0 Bridge: [yenta_cardbus] (bus ID: 0000:02:00.0)
Socket 0 Device 0: [-- no driver --] (bus ID: 0.0)
Socket 1 Bridge: [yenta_cardbus] (bus ID: 0000:02:00.1)

I can't tell, but I am guessing that this has something to do with ATA
vs IDE? I don't have any IDE modules loaded, nor do they get loaded
when I insert the card. Please let me know what information is needed
to investigate this.

Thanks,
Nathan
