The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

A final comment: the only differences between the -15 modules and -16
modules were in the interrupts, amixer and obviously dmesg. I've entered
the results of amixer on -16 below, and attached the dmesg output from
-15 modules

I have this same issue (items 1, 2, and 3 above) on linux-
image-2.6-20-16-lowlatency (I didn't spend any time on -generic). For
fun, I copied the snd-hda-codec.ko and snd-hda-intel.ko modules from
2.6.20-15-lowlatency into 2.6.20-16-lowlatency, and low and behold,
sound worked.
