When I slide subwoofer volume above 100% under x.1 mode, other volume
may be pulseaudio expect separate volume controls

This is simple GUI behavior problem. Nothing to do with environment.
4.1, 7.1 or any hardware, it does not matter as long as x.1 wich is with
subwoofer environment.
If you just move around the slider for volume, it would happen.
