I've sent in the change to make discover-data prefer -intel over -i810,
which will solve this bug.

Ah, that's great to hear that the -intel driver doesn't have that
problem. It's possible we may deprecate i810 in favor of -intel, but in
case we don't, I'm going to leave this bug open at high priority for us
sorting out.

In answer to your 2 questions:
1) The "intel"-driver doesn't need the DisplayInfo option setting to get it to
work. I would certainly call that an improvement
2) My xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log files are attached

Unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce this problem on my hardware (945GM)
after upgrading.
Could you attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and /var/log/Xorg.0.log files? Then I
can see if this is a known issue upstream.

Thanks for reporting this issue. I'll upgrade my i810 system to gutsy
and see if I can reproduce it.
Meanwhile, could you test something for me? The -i810 driver is
actually scheduled to be obsoleted in favor of the -intel driver
(perhaps not until Gutsy+1, but maybe sooner if it pro
